A Series of Objects to Increase Intimacy Amongst Men in Pentonville Prison.
Group Project with Iris Janin.

Visiting the infamous Pentonville Prison, we were struck when we saw the prison had hoisted an LGBTQ+ flag over its main entrance. Was this a place that promoted inclusion, and sexual and gender expression?
'Prison Intimacy' is an exploration of prisoners' right to intimacy, and the sanctions and control over sexual and romantic connection they face. In response, we created a series of objects questioning these laws and their effects. These objects allow you to foster physical and emotional connections with your cell mates while trying to abide by prison laws.
